NO KINGS 2.0 IN THE COPPER COUNTRY
On October 18th more than 800 people turned out for the No Kings 2.0 and Motor March to rally in support of our democracy, our rights and freedoms. And to stand against the rising authoritarianism being demonstrated by our federal government. Organized by Keweenaw Indivisible and the League of Women Voters of the Copper Country, the day was a great success. Nationally, Indivisible estimates that over 7 million people attended 2700 rallies in towns and cities large and small.
HEALTHCARE FOR ALL TOWN HALL
This event, held October 15th, centered on a legislative proposal put forward by Democrats in the Michigan House. State Representative Carrie Rheigans, a lead sponsor of the bill, spoke on what this "healthcare for all Michiganders" proposal would mean for residents of our state. A Q&A session followed.
The event was co-sponsored by the Keweenaw Mutual Aid Collective, the Houghton County Dems, Michigan United, the Baraga County Dems, and Keweenaw Indivisible.
If you'd like further information on the proposal, visit the Representative's MICARE web page for an overview.
